Bi-Weekly Update: 5-30-22 Totally on time and not late status update

Hey everyone. Hypothetically, if this update was late, I would apologize for the delay, and likely explain it was due to a busier weekend than usual; thankfully, it's totally not at all late, so I don't need to do that! Haha. Yeah.

All jokes aside, this will be a quick update. Things haven't changed much since the last one; the home buying process is a slow and plodding one, and it involves an awful lot of packing, waiting, and reading dozens of pages of dense legalese, three of my least favorite activities. I am still getting some CPE work done, mostly all related to the game's story and fleshing out the remaining roadmap, but if I'm being perfectly honest - and I try to make a point of doing that with these updates, you certainly deserve it with how patient you've all been with me - I have had a decent amount of free time, but this whole process has been giving me a lot of stress and anxiety, so I've been using that free time to try and relax rather than working a ton on CPE. I think that's been the right choice, since normally this level of stress would cause me to shut down into a depressive spiral, but overall I'm still doing pretty well. The choice to focus on my mental health right now will pay off nicely once we're done with the move. For the first time ever, I'll be in good spirits once we settle in, rather than having to deal with the aftermath of forced working through depression like I've done to myself before.

As far as the move is concerned, despite our status not changing much, we are making progress; our negotiations with the sellers were finished as of today, and whoever is in charge of the appraisals will be ordering one first thing tomorrow. As long as there are no surprises with the appraisal, all that will really be left is the actual closing, then the move itself. We have a moving company picked out, they're just waiting on us to give them an exact date. The original deadline was June 29th, but because the negotiations and whatnot went so quickly, I'm hoping we'll be able to finish up sooner than that. I'm hoping that we'll be closing or about to close by my next update, but I'm clueless about how long that process takes, so take that with a grain of salt.

I also had that followup about my beta blockers, and after talking with my doctor thoroughly about it, we've decided to keep the dosage as is for now. Their chief concern was that upping the dosage could bring my heart rate too low, and as long as my resting heart rate is staying below 100 and above 60 consistently, it's not a big deal if it fluctuates throughout the day. I've only noticed it going too high a few times since starting the medication, and it's possible that it was because of physical activity, I can't remember for sure. Either way, between my clean bill of heart health, the beta blockers, and my efforts to get in shape, there shouldn't be anything to worry about, and my heart rate should naturally lower as I get in better shape.

So that's about it for this week! I'm ticking down the hours until we can finally be settled again, being in limbo like this is always a miserable experience. I'm so damn thankful that we've been working on our mental health all this time, though; moves have always been a huge cause of stress and depression for me, and it's refreshing to still feel relatively okay even with all of this going on. I'm antsy to get back to work, though, so the sooner we're done the better. Thank you all for reading, and I'll see you again in the next update - fingers crossed we can get this thing finished sooner than expected!
